You are! I'll send you... Five free downloads from the Nerd Armor store or something... or a mixtape. I don't know, what do you want?

There's actually a few instructables on making Iron Man armor, especially the chest thing. This is gonna turn into an army vest, except way cooler. Like a bond watch! We're actually going to build it too. You underestimate our boredness.

Have you seen the ThinkGeek Chainmail?

Whoah, Taylor! That's not what we're talking about here. Save that for the chatroom with R2.

Taylor you aren't thinking in terms of practicality. It'd be way easier to make chainmail out of CDs

ah just saw thinkgeek chainmail

chainmail out of cd's won't protect much. i've broken plenty of cd's with airsoft BB guns. plus they have that middle hole that leaves you vulnerable to attacks.

maybe we can use that new apple casing technology and make it a one piece solid but dont know if that will allow much flexible movement

Man, with all the trouble I've had just getting Pro Tools 7.4.2 running on my Mac, I myself am gonna wait until I hear how stable and smooth it's going to run before I update.
I really like the idea that it's finally getting the "proper" MIDI support though. I really have high expectations for it and I only hope the hype lives up to it. Cross fingers.

just asked my friend at digidesign

1-supposed to drop this month
2- leopard IS required
3- intel IS required

its not looking good for power pc users. steinberg, dp, and even logic are following suit as well.

this makes me very angry and its clearly a money thing for apple. a lot (and i mean a lot) of studios still run ppc apples. for the most part no one upgrades or updates their studio computers because if it aint broke dont fix it.

we have been lied to by apple again who said they will continue to support ppc for a few years but are now single handedly forcing all the new versions of DAW's to go intel only.

fuck.

p.s. i've been waiting a long time to say this in context

how do you like them apples?

It's gonna end up being Intel Macs Vs AMD PCs. And the AMD PCs are gonna win because AMD's better virtualization support will let people run Windows, OSX and Linix Distros all at once! (64 bit no less)

Windows Vista is like Win ME. It's the shit show in between two relatively stable operating systems. So when new Windows comes out it'll be awesome, and hopefully so will the latest Ubuntu update. By then, software companies will be taking advantage of multicore processors and 64 bit technology and everything will be wicked fast.
