jeeez, okay, now im gonna be off-topic.

LAZ! i get on a plane to chicago tomorrow. im scared to death, this is only my second time flying and well i know that you travel a lot....any suggestions on how to make the time pass by and ignore violent turbulence that makes it feel like the plane is gonna drop out of the sky any second? 1st time i flew was to chicago too but that was over summer, weather is pretty different now, and i make a stop in vegas.

i know taking some sleeping pills would probably be best but id definitely rather be awake the whole time.

hmmm maybe a shot or two of whiskey?

thanks,
alexandra

a lot of people take xanax or something alike when theyre nervous about flying. I have adverse effects to that shit sometimes so i rather not take it, i'd even send you my frickin bottle of tranxene pills, thats how terrified i am of them after the last time i took one and hallucinated + nightmares.

alcohol will definitely relax you a bit but it'll make you wanna pee.

i used to take a piece of weed brownie before long flights back when i was a stoner but even those can make you wig out in a bad situation.

now i usually bring my neck pillow, some chamomile tea (i ask for hot water on the plane), an electric adapter for my laptop + movies.

the chamomile tea is a natural sedative that will knock you the fuck out in like 20 minutes.

also an ipod and relaxing music does wonders.

Yeah I thought about smoking some bud, but that'd just make me think the plane really is falling out of the sky.

I don't have an ipod (I know) but I do have my trusty sidekick slide that has an mp3 player so I'm good there.

That tea thing though, now that's a good idea. ill bring some bear-shaped bottled honey with me. Ha. Mmm sounds good.

It would also make me feel less nervous if you drew me a picture too, lol. Even if its stick figures!

yea i've normally had good experiences stoned on planes except one time I ate some brownie and fell asleep. So when I woke up mid flight it had hit me full blast and caught me offguard. I paced back and forth the plane for a good 25 minutes and washed my face maybe 4 times.

about that drawing, you just gave me an idea.

Oh man that sounds like the worst! Yeah I've had all kinds of edibles from brownies, chocolate chip cookies, sponge cake, and rice crispy treats. All from a clinic though, a friend of mine has a medical marijuana card. Same situation happened to me.

When I had a cookie (the whole thing), I fell asleep for an hour and I woke up higher than a kite. Don't smoke or eat much of that stuff no more though. I'd rather have a beer.

Did you ever like DJ'ing high?

I remember when I first started DJ'in when i was 16 back at Soho Lounge.
I would smoke and it can either go into 2 different routes

one i'd feel the music really good and do a great job
and the other I'd get self conscious and think i picked all the wrong songs

now a days i rather smoke a blunt while I',m djing

haha nah man I don't think i'd be able to do it. It did help with the creative process in making music but i'd like to think i don't need it anymore (who wants to be completely reliant on something anyway to create music?)

i used to drink the right amount of drinks when i dj'd to loosen me up a bit but feel like i dont need to anymore.

yeah when producing it makes me lazy and once you get on a good work flow you wanna keep it going

if anything it's good for the mixing stage
after a good hour or two of mixing take a 30 minute break then listen to it high again

yea real easy to play guitar hero instead. it really is all about focusing your attention.

also real easy to start jamming without recording shit, just go on some random stoner jam.

the mixing process does become alive too. but just be careful you don't spend 45 minutes making sure the reverb on the snare is "just right"

Hahaha that's exactly what I said when he sent it to me. If only you could get wicked tone out of it and have it be loud... A Tesla coil replacing a Mesa Stack? I'd buy one.

Yeah but if it happened in front of a large crowd of people, you'd sell tons of records. Cause if there's one thing more metal than shredding through a tesla coil, it's the catastrophe that happens when you turn up the gain and get crazy electrocuted from across the stage!
Too bad I already have the ultimate box for metal/jazz/blues/rock/psychedelic/noise/panda bear sex tone... The only other gear I'd buy for guitar would be a PA or something.

ive got mad ADD so when i find something i like i hyperfocus on it for lack of a better word, but i end up making weird ass loops instead of plotting out entire songs
