How do we do this?

18 years old, live in Brampton - half hours drive to Toronto's core. I started DJing a couple of months ago and am just starting to scratch the surface of making electro.

I was big into DFA79 when your a women im a machine came out and I first heard them. Before that I listened to rock and rap - all forms of them. After I discovered DFA79 I started listening to more "dance-punk" stuff, leaning more towards the punk side.

After not listening to DFA79 for a couple years, after they broke up, I found the EP in my collection and had another listen. I said I wonder what these guys are doing now. Wikipedia introduced me to a page called mstrkrft. That was a little over a year ago.

Within the week I had mstrkrft's The looks, all their remixes I could find and several dj sets. Where was this music my whole life? They catapulted me into love for dance music. Before I thought dance music was the pussycat dolls and shit they played at weddings. Not anymore -> Since i'm still comparatively new to this genre i'm still digging for more music, more subgenres, more sounds.

Thank you mstrkrft for introducing me to your GF - house music.

Hi guys,

I'm Maarten and I'm Belgian.

I live in Linkhout and I like to make music.
I hate it when I go to a club or party and the lights don't move with the music.
It has to be a harmony of sound and light.

One day I'm gonna do live shows. (I hope)
For now I'm just producing stuff.

Oh yeah and I like Soulwax

Wassup everyone

Im jamie from London!

Been into electro for a while and MSTRKRFT was a disscovery from Aoki's mixing whom I saw live randomly one day and my life was changed forever!

Love KRFT's style more than most of the electro-dance dj's out there its just a lot harder! Originating from a metal background Im usually the one going fucking nuts on the dancefloor

Cant wait till may 2nd when I can see them!

hey everyone,

my name is gordon, i'm from nova scotia, canada, and i produce funky synth-pop/electro under the moniker 'Snow Picnic'.

i'm passionate about music production and dj'ing, and all aspects of it. i never planned to be a dj, i just started really getting into/making dance music and friends started asking me to put on my ipod and play my songs at parties. i loved it, and realized i was looking forward to playing new music for people every weekend.

in the years since, i've done a lot of research, learned some skills, met some very cool people, bought ableton live, and now i can say i've done shows opening for Steve Aoki and LA Riots!

i don't like to argue, i'm not out to arm-wrestle every other dj, i'm just here to learn as much as i can.

if you're interested in what i do, my myspace is here:
http://www.myspace.com/snowpicnic

i just recently posted a new mixtape there, i'd post the url here but i'm at work and don't trust my long-term memory at all.

cheers!
gordon

Watsup!
My name's Phil, I'm 18 and am from Montreal(actually the South-Shore).

I've been reading the message board for about a month but was too lazy to make an account lol

I love music, and I've been into this electronic-disco-punk-dance-whatever-you-cali-it stuff for about 3-4 years.

I won't say I make music myself but I play around with my keyboard(I played piano for like 6-7 years)
Started DJing for the fun of it

My other hobbies are skiing, longboarding, having an awesome time and discodancing

I've seen MSTRKRFT like 4 times and each of those has been better than the last. I just saw them last night @ Ultra.
