Hey everyone I'm Brandon.

I'm a sophomore at Michigan State University and I joined this board because I saw MSTRKRFT at Rothbury 2009 this year and they absolutely blew me away. I can't wait to see them again in Detroit this November.

After Rothbury I bought a Korg Kaossilator and have been toying around with that... It's more of a toy than an instrument though and I decided I needed something more powerful. I just bought a Microkorg and got a copy of Reason 4 so I'm just starting to make some of my own music.. I've been messing around with them individually but I still need to buy an audio interface.. I live with two other musicians who also happen to be my best friends. One plays guitar and the other is a percussionist. Both are very talented and I have a lot of catching up to do in order to be on the same level with them. Gotta practice my scales and chords and at the same time learn all about synthesis. I'm very motivated though and I think I'll be decent in a month or so.

I used to smoke weed every day but something bad happened and now I'm on probation until November... At first it was a little difficult to quit smoking cold turkey but I must say it's nice to be able to think clearly haha. Now I just stick to cigarettes but even those I've been cutting back on. I don't think I'll ever go back to smoking on a daily basis again, just occasionally with friends/ celebrities.

I have an N64 and a Super Nintendo hooked up right now and I'm currently playing through the Donkey Kong Country series... (just beat the first one and am about halfway through the second one). My favorite game of all time is Chrono Trigger.

I work at Qdoba Mexican grill.

Yep that's it.

hello all;
i'm listening to the essential mix right now for about the 4th time in the last 24 hours or so
that i've been aware of this board for a year or so, a member for a month or so (so i could see other topics other than discussion)
i've loved mstrkrft for about 1.5 years (i'm late to it i know)
i know nothing about making electronic music (any type of music, for that matter) and i'm not artistic at all
i hate hipsters
i play a lot of sports
i take accounting at uni (sounds lame, i know)
i like pretty much all music, but electronic is #1 and old school rap is #2
i don't really fit the mould of the typical electro listener at all, but i fucking love it and i hate the notion that someone should dress/act a certain way because of the music they like... i think that if you like something you should be completely unapologetic about it, no matter how lame it may seem
that means that i'm probably the guy wearing lacoste who you would never expect to like mstrkrft, but i don't really give a shit
so thats pretty much it
btw i'm hammered right now (sorry for the horrendous grammar)
and if it helps at all i've read all of the questions for jesse (both topics) and i find myself relating to him more than any musician i've ever known of, probably because he's the only musician that i know of that shares any political beliefs that i have (i'm more or less a libertarian, by the way) and partly because he just seem s to have so much common sense, which i think is seriously lacking in today's world
i've never joined an internet board before, but this one is just too cool to pass up and i'd love to be a part of it
thanks for dealing with the long post,
easy love

As a matter of reference I guess I can officially introduce myself even though ya'll all know me.

I'm KATHERINE. I'm from the gulf coast of Alabama. I once heard if you put pop rocks in soda and drank it your head would explode. I have neither though so I can't check it out. I used to play drums, I used to ride horses and do competitive 3-day eventing, I also used to do foredeck crew on sailboats called 420s in regattas when it wasn't too cold. Now all I do is slack off and college. I like MSTRKRFT but I listen to a lot of other types of music. I'm 21 and I drink a lot of whiskey. I think someone's drink of choice says a lot about them. As for me... well confederate soldiers getting their leg sawed off weren't given a vodka cranberry, that's for damn sure.
I like tattoos, late nights, dark haired men, rebels, napping, batman, Mardi Gras, and basically anything done with passion.

yeah so... Hi.

hello! i am savant and i've never properly introduced myself here

my real name is taylor sullivan and i'm an 18-year-old freshman at texas tech university, majoring in computer science and minoring in french and german. i was born in san angelo, texas and i've since lived in coppell, texas, abilene, texas, bitburg, germany, and lubbock, texas.

in middle school i was a skater and anime enthusiast, but i dropped both of those hobbies when i moved to germany. in germany i picked up on programming and music and these two things remain my primary hobbies and passions. i'm big into DJing and i produced a really shitty house track once (www.myspace.com/sidneydeshawn). i'm also close friends with texas secession (www.myspace.com/texassecession).

my other interests include philosophy and politics. philosophically i align strongly with absurdism; politically, i'm very open-minded and see virtue in both the far right (libertarianism) and in social democracy to the left.

i'm big into rock, pop, dance (especially house), and hip-hop. i've never attended a live music performance besides some shitty local shows.

my fashion sense is pretty much sticking to basics and playing with layering. i like to look nice, not flashy.

Hey guys my name is Kelvin and I'm 19 years old residing in Perth, Australia.
I love all sorts of music and don't really listen to one specific genre, I remember a friend introducing me to DFA1979 years ago and then I slowly caught onto MSTRKRFT when they began and haven't looked back since

I'm still yet to see MSTRKRFT as I was underage at the time when they last came or that I know of. But I get to see them at the start of next month at Parklife and I cannot wait, dreams will be made!!!

I don't think I ever formally introduced myself on the forum.
Yo guys, I'm from Michigan. Design student and bedroom DJ been learning for about 8 years now I used to do some mixes inside of Second Life, now I play on a website sometimes but until I get better I won't tell you what it is. I used to draw anime and manga stuff and was gonna be an animator but I got in this shitty relationship that fucked up my self confidence and now I can't seem to get the will to draw much of anything, plus the animation industry in America is in the shambles. I love mixing more than anything else and I can't wait to play a gig someday. Politics, well I think both parties are full of shit and that the country needs to go back to following the constitution and the government needs to stay the fuck out of our business. I want to get into producing music but I struggle with the very basics of understanding the software and how to go about using it (in fact if anyone has any good beginners tips let me know I have a Novation Remote SL Zero that is just collecting dust) but I think I have a good ear for composition and if I could get a grasp on some of the basics I would make some cool stuff. I also try to go to shows as much as possible whenever they are relatively close, gonna get down with mstrkrft at the Crofoot in pontiac this November.
