I believe the correct answer would be starting out with short/balding hair and then eventually growing into long/curling.

Shows that you're spending more time making music than getting haircuts etc.

On another note though-I need some help:

I'm trying to find a way to recreate the said synth drum/tom/bell sound in this song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fnlCYV30_0

If anything-I'd most appreciate an MP3 link or a song I could sample seeing as how torrentz and other things of that nature on my computer are kind of acting up.

hey guys,
this is my first post and feel free to just point me in the right direction.
I wanna make some sweet tunes but i dont know if i have the skill musically to be able to produce the types of sounds that i would like to be able to. some synths i have messed around with just seem unable to produce the distortion,.. ect., that you get from Justice and MSTRKRFT. is there any way to see if i have the skill to do what i want without outlaying money? thanks and any help would be great.

try this site. it's pretty useful. I think it will put you in the right direction on how to go about starting out perhaps.

Also what kind of DAW/plugins are you using to try to get that sound?

Since switching to mac I noticed that my mouse tracking was weird. It felt sluggish and not nearly as accurate as it was on my PC... I got used to it but started noticing that it was affecting my work flow. So I did some research and found that the acceleration curve in mac osx is all messed up and that's why there's the problem... the acceleration curves are different on the mouse settings vs the trackpad setting so that's why things were fine when using my trackpad but weird when i was using an optical mouse... needless to say it's been a HUGE upgrade and make my ability to sit down and produce a lot quicker since I can actually get around the screen now!

so i got this program called USB Overdrive... you can tweak the settings in there... just in case anyone else have having the same problem.. i think there's other programs too... thought i would mention just in case anyone was having similar frustrations

play around... lately I've been making a one bar reallly really solid drum pattern... just one bar and then duplicating it to 4 bars and making sure each bar is different somehow... either i'll swith up the snare or add a hi hat... shaker... throw some extra reverb... whatever... just play around ealier I asked a quesiton about a D.I.M. drum pattern and I learned about LFOs on drums and now I'm all about it it's made a big difference... I just got some Rokit 6s G2s and it feels like some one un clogged my ears... it's made it so much easier to hear other people's patterns and study what makes them unique...

So, I made a thread about this yesterday, but it got deleted and I was told to post it here. Anyways, check out this amazing deal I got. Yamaha PSS-680 for three bucks from my local thrift store.

So what do I need to do to hook this up to my macbook? Just buy a Midi to USB cable?

I recently got a PSS-480 for $20 at Deseret Industries which compared to other thrift stores I've shopped at is kind of overpriced but it's a fun little thing to have around just to get ideas for melodies on and such.

I've been trying to hook it up to my windows, but I need to get another midi cable.
luckily with the sound card I have you can hook up midi to the comp. with just the standard 5 pin midi cables. I have a Yamaha RX7 drum machine too that I'mna try and hook up when I get the right cables.

Idk if it's too old to work with ableton or not but I'm gonna try
