Alright guys, i have an issue.

I am a dj/producer and i am used to using CDJs though i dont own my own so i have never been able to practice properly.

So i bought a midi controller.

I am using Virtual DJ with my midi controller and some of the knobs dont do anything or fuck up whati m trying to do in the first place.

Also, i cant hear my low, mid, hi cuts in my headphones when im trying to cue. Is that normal

should i just use traktor even though it sucks as a visualizer and looks like a kids toy ?

let me know guys.

MIDI control in Virtual DJ is pretty shitty especially when you try to control the effects. I'd recommend using Traktor if you can, it's a much more 'MIDI friendly' application.

i feel like an idiot asking this so please forgive me. how do producers make that sound in a track that takes the audio and slows it as if its playing on a record player that gets stopped? like how the audio warps down and cuts out, and then they can have it warp back up and play again? what's this type of maneuver called? it seems to be increasingly popular and i have been dying to know so that i could try and find some patches or something.

thanks for any help!

honestly if you map a simple pitch descend it sounds a lot like it, i mean it sounds tight either way even if thats not the exact sound youre looking for.. i do it in ableton all the time.
