so lets say i have 2 people that both want to use ableton as their host for 2 seperate VST instruments seperate channels with seperate midi controllers for each player. how would i make that happen?

Like midi clock?> Am I stupid and it's actually more complicated? lol

Oh wait like one Ableton instance with two vsts loaded and recieving midi signals from two different midi controllers sending on two separate midi channels?

For everything I'm doing with this thing right now, I say new thread. There's alot
that I'm planning to do with this. Definitely a new thread. I'll post the MIDI interface
I'm designing once I have a BETA running. From there, upgrades.

Does your banhammer have midi thru?!

Anyone actually making their sound in Max/MSP? I've kinda grown tired of trying to find a synth with the perfect interface and features. I might just build a sound environment to be run from within Reaper, which already has awesome routing features.

I guess that'd be a question for the forthcoming thread

Is there a hacked version out for mac yet? wanna try it out... seems so rad that you can edit anything... is it hard to learn? how much coding do i need to know? and what language is max anyways? max language? like is it comparable to like cocoa or something like that? I've seen videos and it seems like it's a lot of dragging little modules around... maybe I can read a book or something.

On that note I just got done reading this and it's really good:
Hewitt - Music Theory for Computer Musicians (Cengage, 2008).pdf
I highly recommend. Todd posted the Ravenspiral Guide a long time ago... this is a good guide to go a long with it.

1. So I'm trying to make a rise to drive tension and push my track along during the verse changes. Making the actual rise isn't the problem, but I can't seem to get it to sound right... How many octaves above the lead should I make it? I'm thinking Genesis's rise... that little high pitched one that drives the track along....

Also if my song is written in Eb/D# major Then should my rise be in key? and go up one octave and land on that same lead note...? So start in Eb1 for example and end in Eb2? How do you guys do it?

mod&op - untitled,unmastered 6copy1.mp3

It's pretty bare bones right now but you can get the idea of where it's going...
