Are you trying to suggest that THIS man is homosexual?!

If so, I'd say you need some professional help. You clearly have some psycho-sexual issues you need to resolve.

okay let's get this thread out of the gutter.

i've made this peanuts club remix and would like some feedback, it isn't complete yet but i am feeling like i am still struggling with production. I'd like some opinions and some ideas or tricks to get what i am missing. i won't flame you if you hate it, don't worry.

the key to making this better is to throw in more frequencies below 7hz. true story.

the problem with peanut club is that the melody of the lead really embodies and drives the whole track... so making a remix of it and keeping the melody the same is difficult because the melody really tells you where it should be going. It's so syncopated that trying to have a constant sound behind it just clashes. It's kinda hard to describe what I'm sayin' I guess it's just a feeling.

the build up is awesome... but then it just falls apart.

try side chaining the bass to the lead a little bit to make it move a little bit...

The lead needs to be placed forward and enriched a bit it sounds a little too bland next to the bass/movement sound

But when you're gonna change a song like that you need to then just chop up the melody too because it just doesn't work... that peanut club lead is like the voice also... similar to bangkok by boris blusgosch. yeah it's a synth, but you could close your eyes and imagine it was talking you know?

but I like the intro a lot, and having a different dark remix is cool.

piano sounds awesome. and the way you looped the melo sound sounds good at the beginning too... I think you could just keep looping it again after it's supposed to drop and just make it loud and mean, maybe layer another sound underneath...

thanks mauricio i agree with basically everything you said, and i could tell that it was clashing but couldn't really get it. it seems really stupid now that i think of it but i feel like i got a little to caught up in the track and it's good to have a fresh pair of ears to listen to it.

i'll come back with a revised copy and we'll see how i do.

I have that problem too. So I tried to find a different way to work and I think I found something really promising. I'm re doing a song with that method right now.

Instead of working on an intro and then building... I work on the first verse and the chorus. And make those two really really really good. Then I lay out the structure of the song. And then it's fill in. You know what I mean.

I've already noticed two positive things that come from it.

1. instead of adding stuff to it to try and fill it out. I end up re arranging things, which leads to better, more innovative sounds and keeps the track less busy but musically richer.

2. If I'm stuck on one part I can see the other stuff that I need and work on it. Like cooking kinda.

This is obviously personal taste. But it has helped me a lot recently.

Here's an example of the new track I'm working on. the loop after the first drop.

Tyler all I want is more piano after the drop. And funk guitar maybe, but I want funk guitar on everything, so... And like I said before, I like the way the lead sits with the harmony, I wouldn't chop it up or mangle it too much.

Agreed. With your attitude you should stop posting here because nobody cares.

I sent you this remix a couple of days ago honestly asking for some advice but you come on here and say something like this instead, productive.

I cleverly worded it to say 10 times a day for that reason. I do have downtime.

and I did get that email and probably would have replied this friday when I catch up on demos. but its also quite a high expectation to have that all I do is check my email for peoples demos (particularly yours it seems) and give feedback.

I don't care if this hurts any of your sensitive sensibilities. I just think its gay as fuck when you have a couple of douchebags arguing over who's right, when in the big picture, no one even gives a damn who they are (or anyone in that case). what ive learned is that the most important part about making music is researching and experimenting with what you know. making amazing sounding trax and then knowing the right people to give them to. Having someone tell you how to recreate a Justice bass, or a Crookers lead or some shit isnt going to make you a great artist. sometimes its doing things the hard way and figuring it out. or reading.

im sure someone will blow this out of proportion, but thats why I usually avoid this thread.
