altiverb and waves ir1 are the only two that are worth caring about

Seems like they're just reverb though. Are we just talking about swapping the impulse reverb samples for regular samples and using it like reverb? I'm using Waves IR by the way.

Does anyone know if it's possible to take a custom instrument made in the exs24 plugin for logic pro 8 and use it as the software instrument for the ultrabeat drum plugin? I've tried everything from saving the instrument through the exs24 plugin to exporting it, but nothing has allowed me to open the instrument using ultrabeat. I've tried putting the files in the appropriate directories in my library, but it still won't show up in the logic pro library interface.

Ah, that's what I was afraid of. What software instrument filetypes are supported by ultrabeat? Are there any plugins similar to the exs24 that can export a supported software instrument for ultrabeat?

can someone clear up the differences between a remix, mix, and edit?

i listen to some edits and to me they seem like completely different songs so why not call it a remix? and then i see some tracks labeled as mixes but theres no second song, its practically a remix.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I think a mix is generally a continuous track sampling multiple different songs. A remix can typically have samples from a certain song, combined with beats or other musical devices of the remixer's choice, and an edit is a song modified using only parts from that song(?)

Just sample directly from the song that you want the sound from. Logic is really good for that i've found, especially when you use the "strip silence" tool.
