Ok, first of all about the lightsabers.

The red/blue/yellow/green/purple/and even white glows of a lightsaber do not give off different types of radiation. The different colors come from a myriad of different crystals that a Jedi might find most suitable to his or her personality when constructing his or her lightsaber during apprenticeship. Such as when Luke constructed his new lightsaber on Dagoba, while under the final tutelage of Master Yoda, he found and favored green crystals to become the power supply for his new lightsaber. This also symbolized Luke's growth as a Jedi. Originally, he wielded a blue Lightsaber, given to him by Master Kenobi, which symbolized his youth and naivety, but also of his innocence and pure heart. Then, as he personally constructed his green lightsaber, the green symbolized his maturity (as green often does with plants and the Earth) and also of his expanding intellect as a Jedi - green is the color of intellectuals in most cultures. It could also be noted that green, as an individual color, is a part of the "cool" colors, while Sith blades are ALWAYS red - the color most dominantly a "warm" or "hot" color. I'm sure I do not have to explain the differences and symbolism behind warm and cool colors.

So, in ending, it should be know that no matter the color of the lightsaber that it COULD NOT cut through Superman - nor even damage him.

However, having said all the preceding information, there is a giant flaw in the original nerd's answer about lightsabers and Superman, and that is the crystalline form of Kryptonite. If Kryptonite, in its crystalline form, was used as the power supply for a lightsaber it would have devastating results against Superman.
