Hey Felix, i've been using ableton for a little over a year, i feel confident knowing thats what i want to use and I am now more serious and willing to put money into equipment. The UC-33 is getting old is it not? Is there anything else that you figure is better that is newer and just as affordable? And as far as equipment goes whats your complete setup like?

thanks in advance

Hey Felix - A buddy of mine said he saw an image of a project file of one of your tracks and you had "like 30 compressors" engaged, or something along that line. Do you know what image I'm talking about, and if so could you post it here?

Additionally, can you explain a little bit of how and why you did that to that track, and what other kind of extreme but neat tricks do you use in your tracks?

Thanks homie!

I saw you in Columbus Ohio, i was too drunk in that cathedral, your set just totally destroyed my perception of how I want to mix. How did you do those epic build ups, they seemed like they lasted forever, which was righteous. Ive been using live since early v5 and I've never seen anyone kill it with live like you did. Did you just cut the loop down progressively from like 1/2...1/4...1/8...1/16th and so on? either way, your set was epic

Moss Vs. Tree sounds like some FUCKED up compression.. I'm no producer but I've dabbled.

Midi-Controllers all essentially do the same thing, different makes just offer different parameters (more or less) in different shapes or sizes. So whether a controller is "old" doesn't really mean it's not going to be able to function as well as something that's newer, it's really up to you what you need it to do. Controllers are like hardware, older stuff sometimes works the best, if it's tried and true. Software on the other hand requires more updating...

My live setup is just evoltion + ableton + my macbook, for production I use Reason + Mbox mini + protools + macbook.

Yeah I saw that, amazing, its a 50,000 person festival in Amsterdam. Me and Felix talk a bit here and there, so I'm glad to see the love

I would love to know which buddy this is and where he saw it... I don't usually produce out in the open.

As for neat tricks, I really am a huge fan of reverb. For example in Montreal Dreams, the track is the same melody the entire song (minus the breakdown), the different rhythms are all created through different wet/drys of reverb and mod-freq rhythms.

My mom is polish but grew up in the Dominican Republic and everyone thought she was partly hispanic due to her olive skin tone.

When you aren't working, how do you like to spend your free time?
I saw the video of you jumping into the drum set in your Orange Squared days and then the "greatest skate video of all time". Do you still make time to skate?
