How is undocumented running? are you trying to establish it as a "crew"? like Ed B, institubes? whats your guys' whole take on that stuff anyways? I asked jesse this question awhile ago, he didnt answer, but i figure this maybe a better AM question anyways.

AM!
I was wondering if you'd heard anything about coming back to The Echo Project in Atlanta this year. You really should make the trip back over if you can. I had so much fun meeting all of you etc last year.

Things are going great. Couldn't be better. All the guys are busy and have a ton of stuff going on. As far as establishing a "crew" its not something that we set out to do or even really talk about. The truth is whatever label you wanna use to describe what we are is cool, if you say we are a crew thats an accurate description but its not like its us vs Ed Banger or anything. We are all cool with those guys. What we have is honestly more of a family thing, crime family actually hahaha. The guys each appreciate the work of the person next to them and they all feed off each other. That's not a BS answer just the truth.

yeah, when you title groups as "crews" it sounds very rivalry-like.

AM, I have a question regarding management. I produce for an upstart toronto electro-rap group. Things are going well and starting to get off the ground. The only thing is that my MC and I are both very busy with our 9-5's and are less savvy with the scene and would rather just focus on the music than have to spend the majority of the time we do have, to trying to book gigs, get placements and get our foot in the door with industry types. We've gone the route of having one of our boys try, butit hasn't worked out

So my question is this. What do you suggest in terms of my management/booking issue? is it worth trying to hire someone? and if so, how do you go about finding the right person for you?

My first bit of advice and the most important thing I can tell you is get the music right first. Before any hiring of a manager or booking agent you gotta have your product at the point where its ready to go. I think too many people feel that by hiring a manager or trying to get a booking agent it will automatically make things pop off for them. The best thing you can do is get music into peoples hands, and with myspace and the other options on the web its not that hard. I listen to new stuff all the time and some of it is actually really good. But if the right people start hearing your music and talking eventually people will take notice. And at the same time it never hurts to be the squeaky wheel. If your shit is dope then let it be known and get it out the best way you can. As far as finding the right person for you as a manager the truth is usually they find you. But thats not to say that you cant approach people you think are right for you. You never know till you try. But with each one of my acts I knew right away I wanted to work with them. Good luck dude.

AM, thanks so much for the advice! I really appreciate it. Sometimes I think the music is already there, and sometimes I'm not so sure... and I think that is probably the best indication. I guess it's just, improve, continue to hustle, improve, perform, improve, repeat, until we start catching a rep.

Again, thanks for the words.
